About us

Richmond Baptist Church has had an active presence in Anfield & Everton since 1865.

We moved to our current home, The House, in February 2018.

We believe that the Church is not a building, but rather the people - a family of believers: and we are passionate about sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ in the local area.

Our congregation is an eclectic, young and young at heart mix, from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures.

Baptist churches are self-governing and self-supporting. We have our own Minister, supported by a team of Deacons (see Meet the Team) who have all been selected by the church membership to manage the church. Any important decisions are discussed and decided on by the church members together.

We are members of:

  • The Baptist Union of Great Britain

  • North West Baptist Association

  • The Evangelical Alliance

What we Believe

We believe that, Jesus Christ was the Son of God, that he lived among us and died for the wrong things we have done. He rose again to be with His Father in Heaven but sent the Holy Spirit to be with us and to empower us. We believe that the Holy Bible is the Word of God and that the Holy Spirit through the Bible shows us God’s way for living.

We believe that, Christian Baptism by immersion in water in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, of those who have professed repentance towards God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that, people are the church and that together the people in the local church can work effectively in the local community to demonstrate God’s love.

We believe that it is the duty of every disciple to bear personal witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to share the good news with the world.
